Summary of Experience
T. Joseph Seward joined the Firm as an associate in July of 1985 and in September of 1991 was made Partner. He currently serves as the Managing Partner of the Firm.
His extensive trial experience spans over 100 civil jury trials in both State and Federal courts with exceptional results. Of the 102 cases he has tried, he has obtained favorable results for his clients in all ALL of these cases. He has received a No Cause victory in 30 cases, summary disposition in 44 cases and voluntary dismissal in 28 cases.
Specializing in a civil defense practice, his trials have included premises liability cases, excessive force and wrongful death claims against police officers. He is a noted expert in claims involving assault and battery and civil rights allegations involving security personnel and police.
His experience has led him to be selected as a Case Evaluator for both Wayne and Oakland counties and has also served as a Discovery Master in Circuit Court. Mr. Seward has spoken at the FBI National Academy seminars on the topics of police liability and how to avoid lawsuits.
