Summary of Experience
Mr. Sturdy’s practice focus on providing an integrated array of legal services in the areas of copyright, trademark, trade secret, outsourcing, restrictive covenants and franchise law. These services include obtaining protection, registrations, amendments and renewals with respect to all types of copyrights, trade secrets, service marks and trademarks. Mr. Sturdy also counsels on licensing, marketing, distribution and other commercial transactions regarding products and services protectable under international, federal, state or local intellectual property laws. Mr. Sturdy has experience litigating and providing advice about disputes involving the protection of enforcement of rights in trademarks, copyrights, confidential information and trade secrets, covenants not to compete, and other intellectual property.
Mr. Sturdy’s has also been involved with the launch of new franchise systems, preparing the legal documents and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws regulating franchising. Mr. Sturdy also assists existing franchisors with annual updates and renewal of franchise registrations. Mr. Sturdy also works with prospective franchisees who are considering purchasing a franchise, assisting with document review and business formation.
